Below you’ll find details about the wedding venue, how to get there, and recommendations for accomodation.
The Venue - Breibyneset, Odalen
Vilde’s grandparents Eva and Morten and great aunt Else are generously hosting us in beautiful tranquil Odalen. Both the ceremony, dinner and reception will be held in the same area as something of a garden party (with marques in case of rain).
The property borders Råsen, a large lake suitable for wading and swimming.

Traveling from Oslo
Unless you are driving, we recommend taking the train to Eidsvoll Stasjon (not Eidsvoll Verk), this takes approximately half an hour and we can arrange for you to be picked up at Eidsvoll. Make sure to arrange this with us through the pick-up-form at least a week before your arrival.
Driving from Oslo Centre to Odalen takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on traffic.
Travelling by plane
The venue and hotel are closer to Oslo Airport Gardermoen than they are to Oslo. We recommend either hiring a car at the airport or taking a train from the airport to Eidsvoll Stasjon (not Eidsvoll Verk). The drive from Oslo Airport to Odalen is approximately 40 minutes depending on traffic. The train takes 10 minutes to Eidsvoll where you will need to be picked up by car.
We will arrange pick-up from Eidsvoll station for guests arriving by train - make sure to arrange this with us through the pick-up-form at least a week before your arrival.
Travelling between the hotel and the venue
The hotel Milepelen Vertshus is 4.5 kilometres from the venue, about a 7 minute drive. We will arrange group-transport between the hotel and the wedding venue at the following times:
Friday:
to and from the mixer in the evening.
Saturday:
from the hotel to the ceremony
to/from the hotel after dinner (particularly for guests with children)
to the hotel later in the evening and night
Parking
There is plenty of parking at the venue.
Accomodation
Unfortunately the hotel is now completely fully booked with our wonderful guests. You may contact us if you still need somewhere to stay and we will do our best to help you. Alternatively we recommend seeing if you can find accomodation in Sand or the area on Finn or AirBnB.
We've secured a special discounted rate for rooms at the charming Milepelen Hotel and Inn in Sand, the closest village to the wedding venue.
To book, simply send an email to booking@milepelen.no, specifying the type of room you’d like. Remember to mentionin that you're attending the wedding and wish to be included in Leaf Thorseth's reservation!
Rates: Double room: NOK 1,295, Single room: NOK 1,100, Family room (two adults and up to three children): NOK 1,990.
Camping
You are welcome to camp on the property at the wedding venue Friday-Saturday and Saturday-Sunday. You will have to provide your own tent and specify that you would like to camp in the RSVP form. We will make the shower in the house available to you upon request.
